Did you no that it is the Chinese year of the rat. Most of us in our class are the year of the rat well i no i am.

Re-name one of our rats

Hi room 5 Do you think that we should re-name one of our rats with a name that our class agrees on??? You can vote on my poll and then you can state your reasons weather you disagree or agree. If you like the idea you can suggest some names but i will talk to the class on wednesday Did you no that it is the Chinese year of the rat!!! Bye....

Sir Edmund Hillary

I think that this is what five people from our class are going to be doing!!! Anyone can add to Hillary memorial Rocks which have been personally engraved by New Zealanders are being put together to form a memorial to Sir Edmund Hillary and his love of mountains. The memorial cairn will be created at the Outdoor Pursuits Centre which bears his name at Tongariro, in the shadow of Mt Ruapehu. The final design will be decided after talks with his widow, Lady Hillary. People who want their name to be part of his memorial have been invited to take an engraved rock to a summit climb. Chairman of the Hilary OPC Centre Grant McKenzie said people would be asked to donate funds to the Sir Edmund Hilary foundation to have their engraved rock become part of the memorial. The donation would range from a gold coin for unmarked stones that would form part of the cairn, to $100 for a pre-engraved rock, to $150 to have the rock engraved. McKenzie says the opportunity for New Zealanders and international visitors to contribute an engraved rock to the cairn would probably continue over a number of years.
